Gyms reopen 2020

Gyms reopening after Covid lockdown
Gyms opening! Lots of you have been missing your gym sessions. For many, it's not just the pumping iron that's been missed but it's the psychological benefits from meeting up with friends, working out with others and being in an environment that promotes physical activity. As you return there are some key things to remember.
- Take into account how long you have been away for. If it's been a few months then ease back into the workouts and perhaps think about where you were in January and spend a week at this level.
- Do not compare yourself to your pre lockdown self. It won't take long to get back there but to jump back in where you left off will put you at greater risk of injury and then further time away from the gym.
- Set yourself small, short term goals, maybe where you want to be in 4 weeks. By taking it slowly for a couple of weeks you'll not just reduce your risk of injury but you'll also remain motivated as you progress relatively quickly and achieve these smaller goals. Soon enough you'll be back to where you were.
- Most importantly just enjoy it and appreciate what you have really missed.
- Say thank you to the gym owners who have somehow managed to stay afloat during this torrid time and hopefully they'll also thank you for returning and supporting them.
Have fun out there everyone. Enjoy getting stronger and more robust.

What My Patients Are Saying

I can’t thank James enough. He always explains so informatively and is extremely thorough with his consultations. I always know I am in safe hands and can always ask any questions. I always leave feeling so positive and with knowledge on how I’m moving forward. The follow up emails reminding me of what exercises I need to do and extra information are invaluable. I thoroughly recommend.
